hENA ALI BERNARD, LCSW, M.S.ED
BIO
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I am a dedicated clinical social worker with diverse leadership roles as a therapist and educator. My journey began as the child of an incarcerated parent, facing the overwhelming challenges imposed by the judicial system. Despite these obstacles, I persevered and earned a master’s degree from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work, followed by a second master’s in education. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Russell Sage College, bringing my extensive experience and insight to my debut novel, The Parallel Sentence.
My personal experiences have fueled my passion for making a difference in the lives of others. I use my unique perspective to amplify the voices of those who may feel unheard or unable to speak up. Through my work with clients and in leadership, I strive to create positive change, believing that we can all rise through resilience when facing challenges.
Outside of my professional work, I love traveling to new and exciting places with my husband and daughter. Cherishing time with loved ones and finding joy in life’s moments are core values of mine.
FAMILY IS EVERYTHING
At the heart of everything I do is my family—my rock, my inspiration, and the constant reminder that love and support are the greatest gifts in life. Whether we’re laughing together, leaning on each other during tough times, or simply enjoying the quiet moments, family is everything. It’s the foundation that fuels my passion, shapes my perspective, and drives me to keep striving for more—both for them and for myself.
“THE FULLNESS OF WHO WE ARE DESTINED TO BECOME IS CREATED BY THE STORIES WE TELL OURSELVES.”
